VinciWorks mental health training course nominated for Zenith Global Health Awards

Mental Health: Wellbeing at Work shortlisted for Healthcare Excellence award

The sixth annual Zenith Global Health Awards will be held in London in November, celebrating excellence and innovation among healthcare professionals. VinciWorks online training: Mental Health: Wellbeing at Work will be among finalists, nominated alongside some of the world’s leading doctors and healthcare professionals.

The awards are set up by healthcare professionals to acknowledge and celebrate fellow healthcare and allied healthcare professionals for their commitment and dedication which is seldom acknowledged. Zenith nominees are based on merit and evidence of achievements and positive impact on healthcare delivery, practice or workforce.

With more businesses understanding the risks of work-related mental health issues, the problem is that the vast majority of mental health training and awareness solutions require onsite, day-long, classroom based external sessions which are a significant time and cost investment that often only the largest or most progressive companies can afford.

How can mental health training be more cost-effective?

Our mental health course provided a cost-effective solution to mental health training. Mobile friendly, it can be rolled out to tens of thousands of workers across multiple sites or be used during induction training. The e-learning course takes users on an interactive journey to understand the basics and your rights, how to take care of yourself, how to take care of others, spotting signs and symptoms, a module for managers and a section on what other initiatives, policies and procedures the business wants to highlight.

We utilised the latest in e-learning and experience design to provide an immersive and practical online learning experience. Plus, our innovative Omnitrack offers pre-built assessments that can be rolled out across an entire workforce. These include a personal stress risk assessment and work/life balance assessments that enable HR teams to identify individuals and teams at risk of stress, even before specific symptoms develop. HR teams and management teams can use that information to develop team-specific stress reduction action plans, such as providing extra resources to overstretched teams, reminding specific users of mental health procedures the company has in place, or simply taking extra time to ask how people are doing.

To change the culture on mental health, it cannot be seen as a parochial, specialised subject. It must be integrated into the compliance and training life of the company. By providing a succinct, useful, practical and interactive e-learning course on mental health, our course aims to make a contribution to seeing mental health as a compliance topic along the lines of equality, diversity, data protection or health and safety.

Training staff for the return to the office

Neither mental health, nor mental health training should have a stigma attached. To change the conversation we need to make it part and parcel of compliance, which is why we are proud the course has been recognised in the medical profession as a way to change the culture and conversation on mental health and wellbeing.

VinciWorks has recently released a new version of the course to cover the mental health impacts of returning to the office post-Covid. Mental Health: Returning to the Office is designed to give users an understanding of some of the causes of stress when thinking about going back, what can happen when it’s not dealt with and how employees and employers can help reduce unnecessary stress and improve wellbeing during the transition.

“Stress at work” risk assessment

The course includes an interactive “stress at work” risk assessment. The assessment asks users a series of questions and then instantly generates a full view of the results, with areas that may need to be improved upon. The assessment can be integrated with our reporting and tracking software, Omnitrack, allowing managers to gain an overall understanding of how staff are affected by stress and helping them find ways to support staff who are struggling with work-related stress or anxiety.
